About Jamie

Throughout her life, Jamie has maintained a passion for celebrating life and supporting others, specifically families, to achieve their fullest potential. Jamie has a master’s degree in Art Therapy and is a registered art therapist and licensed professional counselor. Jamie has been a practicing birth and postpartum doula for nearly twelve years. Jamie became a certified birth doula through DONA International in 2013. Jamie is also a Lamaze certified childbirth Educator and serves as a Member-At-Large on the Ed Council for the Board of Lamaze International. She has focused her professional pursuits on educating, empowering and advocating for people to experience meaningful and joy-filled lives.
She is active in the arts and in local and international social justice efforts that promote life’s integrity and value. She has integrated her creative and therapeutic skills with the practice of prenatal, birth and postpartum support to ensure that life’s significant moments can be experienced with purposeful and positive perspective. Her specialized clinical experience and childbirth coaching skills offer a holistic focus to support the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of mothers and partners during the birth of their baby. The philosophy behind her coaching approach is to blend evidence-based information, strategic comfort measures with confidence and calm to provide birthing women and their families a labor, delivery and newborn experience with as much peace and positivity as possible.
Jamie is well-acquainted with the surrounding metropolitan hospitals and staff at Pennsylvania, HUP, Jefferson, Virtua of Voorhees, Abington, CHOP and others. Jamie has also participated in births at the Life Cycle Birth Center. Jamie is also familiar with and has supported clients utilizing the following birthing models: Hypnobirthing, Hypnobabies, Bradley Method and Mindful Birthing. Jamie has supported VBACs, twins as well as a wide variety of high risk dynamics, ensuring that families are well-informed and well cared for throughout their entire birthing experience. Jamie is also knowledgeable in the specialized use and benefits of essential oils for pregnancy, birth and infant care. She believes in being a team player and assisting each mother and family in facilitating a personalized and dignified birthing and parenting experience.
