Testimonies from former clients

My husband and I reached out to Jamie to help deliver our now three-year-old daughter and again to help with our newest little girl. Jamie helped us identify our fears, hopes and expectations in advance of each labor (quite a feat with a husband who wants nothing to do with talking about medical procedures). I get teary thinking of how Jamie helped me in the most difficult and stressful moments of my life, and helped me move forward toward the end goal. I love that while she was very much a participant, she was also able to act as a facilitator of each experience so that I felt very close to my husband and he felt like he knew how to support me. Jamie is excellent at recommending positions, pressure points, and knowing when it is time to head to the hospital. She respected my birth plan, but also helped me make adjustments that were necessary to respond to how labor was progressing. Don't be fooled by her gentle demeanor though! She has another gear if you need it to get through the pain, discuss options with doctors and go the distance. We love Jamie and highly recommend her, whether or not it is your first delivery.

My amazing husband is not great with blood-related activity, so when I learned what a doula is, I felt sure that would make our baby’s birth smoother. Jamie was a gift to us, because she spent time to listen to our hopes for the birth, but also understood what my limits were. When I had to be induced and the drugs didn’t give me a break from the contractions, she knew when to suggest an epidural. It was comforting to have her there to guide and support me. Labor was 40 hours total for my first son, from induction to birth, and Jamie was there in person for much of it. She was a great emotional support to my husband as well a helper for me. When our second child came along, we reached out to Jamie right away to ask her to assist us again. We love knowing that she met both of our boys within moments of their arrival. Such a special bond.

Working with Jamie was one of the best decisions I've ever made. She supported my husband and I with ease and grace- her spirit was calming and encouraging. Because of our time spent preparing together, she knew my hopes, dreams, fears and strengths and was there to navigate us through it all. I am so glad that gifted myself with a doula- it was the best investment I could have made. I was rallied around, my needs were anticipated and met, I was equipped with incredibly helpful birthing techniques and positive affirmation. It was truly priceless.

I felt comfortable with Jamie from the moment I met her. She provided information, support and never made me feel like I was being pushed into anything. While in the hospital, Jamie created a comfortable and reassuring atmosphere through her words, massages, and her mere presence! My husband said that having someone there in the room who done this before and knows what they are doing can really take huge pressure off the partners. Jamie was very reassuring during a longer birth process and helping keep the mood positive, not just of the mother, but the partner/coach as well.
